IPSEA: Draft SEN Code of Practice "not fit for purpose"

The Independent Parental Special Education Advice (IPSEA) charity has stated that the government's draft SEN Code of Practice document is "not fit for purpose" and "does not even...provide practical guidance on how to apply the law in schools".

New GCSEs May Disadvantage SEN Students

An article published in the Times Educational Supplement (TES) in March this year suggested that students with special educational needs (SEN) may be disadvantaged by planned changes to GCSEs.

The article states that concerns about new, more difficult, single-tier GCSEs have been raised in a Department for Education “equality analysis” looking at how reform will affect particular groups of students. Read the full article here.
